*** There were certain more specific health issues (my hypertension) i mentioned BUT didn’t go into in-depth detail about... i know myself that i keep quiet about what i fear. My dad needed a triple bypass when he was 47, my exact same age now.

"The excessive pressure on your artery walls caused by high blood pressure can damage your blood vessels, as well as organs in your body. The higher your blood pressure and the longer it goes uncontrolled, the greater the damage.

Uncontrolled high blood pressure can lead to complications including:

Heart failure. To pump blood against the higher pressure in your vessels, the heart has to work harder. This causes the walls of the heart's pumping chamber to thicken (left ventricular hypertrophy). Eventually, the thickened muscle may have a hard time pumping enough blood to meet your body's needs, which can lead to heart failure."

Granted i’m not athletic & more of a bookworm rather than physically active. I’m not overweight and i have a good BMI of 20.4 (from active.com ideal body mass index is 18.5-24.9). I don’t smoke, and i’m not an alcohol drinker (i use beer to cook crunchy calamari & beer battered fish fillet.) Lastly, i don’t have sleep apnea, and i don’t enjoy high sodium food.

I like the advice of mayoclinic.org about stress reduction.

* Avoid trying to do too much and learn to say NO. - i am guilty. Nahihiya akong hindi magtrabaho, at nanghihinayang ako sa opportunities. But now i get most of my weekends to rest and recharge. And they try to give me 1 weekday off.

* Avoid stress triggers. - Winner yung avoid people who cause you stress if possible... Thank the heavens for brilliant lawyers.

* Make time to relax and to do activities you enjoy. - this girl and her kindle app & iBooks on her iPads, just going online browsing & only clicking after at least 5 days, eating a chocolate chip cookie or a nice vanilla cupcake with chocolate buttercream is a pleasure (my current favorite is M Bakery in BGC). My creative side enjoys writing and loves editing my IG videos.

* PRACTICE GRATITUDE- nainis na ko sa sarili ko na hinayaan ko na manakaw sa'kin ang kaligayahaan at kapayapaan. So now i try to do your video greeting requests, personally write my THANK YOU cards, and i just thank God every moment my sons hug and sweetly kiss me. Most of all- i remind myself how many people, who dreamed of this job when they were several months older than 2 years old, are actually living their dream?

I’ll end this by asking- who is good with crystal healing & lymphatic drainage or aromatherapy massage? Crystal healing i want to learn, lymphatic uses gentle, relaxing touch while aromatherapy can be so relaxing after a long day of work. Message us please if you can give me a short course, or if you are a medical practitioner with training?

    True. . Stress is a culprit in many bodily malfunctions. Like you, i am a type A personality before retiring from work – wanting to be exceptionally good at work (which earned me some recognitions) and to have an almost perfect family (my 4 children are all professionals tho). . However, my husband got stroke at 59 , I am hypertensive with RBB and arrhythmia. . All these , I attributed to the pressure I allowed myself to go thru. After retirement I learned how to relax and become active in a Catholic renewal movement (Couples for Christ-Handmaids of the Lord ). Teachings I learned from it and the fellowship I got from co-members are heartwarming. Now, I stop taking 2 of my meds. . prayers and the attitude of gratitude to God for everything help me more than my pension does. I am 63 and ready to be at MY MAKER’S disposal. May God, the source of Life, grant you love, regained health , peace and serenity. . 💛💛💛 – evelyn

    Ive been a fan of your dad d late Sen. NINOy and ur Pres. CORY I FIRST SAW YOU DURING A RALLY WHICH STARTED FROM MKATI TO luneta. Since ive been following ur career i just retired last January and ur IG posts have become my daily inspirational message when you got sick ive been praying so hard for your eventual recovery in God’s time in his grace and loving mercy glad you are back to ur old self bubbly inspirational and full of gratitude i will always be ur fan my son as well as my sis are converts lots of love to my idol and inspiration love love love♥️♥️♥️Ruth

    Hi Ms Kris! I am your fan since I was 11 (I’m now 28)and you have no idea how much you influence my life. You are very strong and resilient in every life battles you face…and its not surprising that you emerge a winner everytime. You encourage me to always move forward and be courageous to see what’s ahead and always hope for the best. Your life lessons became mine too. You are unknowingly teaching girls to be brave, resilient and strong with amazing faith in God. Life is not perfect and it doesn’t have to be for us to enjoy its gift everyday.We have to enjoy the little miracles everyday in order to deserve the big miracles on its way❤ I also admire your solid work ethic, you taught me to work harder for my dreams. I love you so much and I wish you all the best in life.
